Company's eXaminer system will be used to screen baggage for international flights

L-3 Communications Security & Detection Systems, a subsidiary of L-3 Security & Detection Systems, has received a significant order to provide the Narita Airport Corporation (NAA) with the company's next generation explosives detection system (EDS), the eXaminer 3DX 6500, that will primarily be used to screen baggage for international flights at Tokyo-Narita International Airport (NRT). The eXaminers will be integrated into the automated baggage handling system of this major international hub airport.

L-3's exclusive distributor in this transaction was the Japan Aerospace Corporation (JAC), a major supplier of aerospace and aircraft systems. Under the terms of their agreement with L-3, JAC will provide installation, maintenance, service and training for the eXaminer systems deployed at NRT.
