Compass Technologies VP and general manager to serve as vice chair of group that will help promote access control standards

Jerry Cordasco, vice president and general manager of Compass Technologies, based in Exton, Penn., has been appointed vice chairman of the Security Industry Association's (SIA) access control industry group.

Joseph Grillo, president of the SIA Board of Directors said, "SIA stays viable through the loyalty and dedication of its volunteers, but it is through the experience and expertise of individuals, such as Mr. Cordasco, that SIA is able to chart a true and unfettered course into the future. This appointment requires great participation in the association, interaction with SIA staff, participation in the organization and oversight of the committee."

"I am very excited and proud to accept the position as vice chair of this access control subcommittee, said Cordasco. "I am hoping to continue the good work begun by the group and build on the successes of SIA. I am looking forward to working with the subcommittee to help promote access control to a broader market and establish standards that improve life safety, employee accountability, asset protection, and help security and loss prevention professionals. With greater participation from both manufacturers and integrators, we will expand the access control market and provide our members with statistical research which will prove invaluable to the security industry."

Cordasco has been involved for more than 25 years in access control and security management. He was vice president of Business Development for General Electric's InfoGraphic Systems, Inc. Prior to InfoGraphic Systems, he was national director of security system sales for Siemens.
