LEGIC Identsystems Ltd, one of the world's leading suppliers of secure platforms for contactless smart card technology, has appointed Aer Rianta its latest Irish license partner.

Aer Rianta is responsible for the operation, management and development of Dublin, Shannon and Cork Airports in the Republic of Ireland. Their core mission is to manage and operate safe, efficient, customer-focused and environmentally responsible services at the three airports on a fully commercial basis and at competitive international rates in support of Government policies for advancing national economic prosperity. Aer Rianta also has shareholdings in Birmingham International Airport and Dusseldorf Airport.

"Security is one of Aer Rianta's key responsibilities. With the conclusion of the license agreement, Aer Rianta will get direct access to LEGIC's highly secure and flexible state-of-the-art contactless smart card technology. LEGIC provides Aer Rianta with an integrated and consistent platform for a modern authorization management for everything from access control, time and attendance to high-security biometric applications all operated via a single contactless smart card platform. LEGIC's unique Master-Token System Control concept enables Aer Rianta to design a tamper-proof security and control concept at the highest level for all three international airports. It provides Aer Rianta with complete control over issued cards, applications and the entire installation, and is thus an instrument which can be used to administer all aspects of airport security.
