Former USFilter/Siemens AG manager Andy Bergdoll joins wire and cabling supplier

Colorado Springs, CO - Liberty Wire & Cable, a worldwide supplier of a broad range of wire and cable products for the audio/video trade, including custom installers and systems integrators, announced the appointment of Andy Bergdoll to the post of President and Chief Executive Officer.

Bergdoll joins Liberty from USFilter, a subsidiary of Siemens AG, where he has held progressively responsible positions around the world since joining them in 1993. He brings extensive General Management experience as well has hands-on functional experience in sales, marketing, new product development, sourcing, and materials management to his new role at Liberty. He was part of the original management team at USFilter that grew the company from $50 million to over $1 billion in revenue prior to its sale to Siemens last year. Prior to moving to Colorado, where he resides, Bergdoll was based in Singapore where he built and ran USFilter's Asia Pacific operations. Before joining USFilter, Bergdoll was a Senior Associate with the consulting firm of Booz, Allen & Hamilton. Previous to that he held various engineering and management positions with General Electric in their Lighting and Space Systems divisions. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Lehigh University and completed his Master of Business Administration degree at Carnegie Mellon University.

The Pennsylvania native will replace Gary A. Michelson, the company's founder. According to Michelson, "The criteria used in the selection process included seeking a fully qualified executive with the experience, talent, creativity and vision to take Liberty Wire & Cable to what we define as the next level. Andy's understanding of key business elements such as international markets, consultant relationships, marketing, the development of new products and technologies, along with his proven business acumen make him an excellent fit for Liberty and for the industry."

Bergdoll explained that he comes to Liberty with the same profound "customer first" way of thinking that has made this company a leader in its field and fueled its remarkable growth. "I intend to have us continue to perform in the superior manor that has earned us the reputation of providing world-class customer service and delivering high quality solutions-oriented products to the marketplace," he stated emphatically.

In addition to taking over for Michelson, Bergdoll will also fill the position of President and Chief Operating Officer held by Shely Saidman. Both Michelson and Saidman will remain active in Liberty as consultants, Board members and investors.
