International Electronics Inc., a leading manufacturer of electronic access control and asset management products for industrial and commercial applications, today announced an expanded manufacturing and distribution agreement with S2 Security Corporation (S2) that allows IEI to manufacture and distribute the eMerge Security Platform to security dealers worldwide.
"Since our initial product development agreement with S2 in August, 2004, we continue to be extremely enthusiastic about the opportunities that eMerge offers," said John Waldstein, CEO of International Electronics. "IEI's distribution and support capabilities in the security systems dealer channel allow us to leverage S2's technology to effectively bring eMerge to market. We are encouraged by the response thus far from our dealer base and their interest in eMerge, and we believe many others in the security industry will soon begin using the breakthrough competitive advantages that this product offers."
Unlike other integrated security systems, the eMerge Security Platform takes advantage of a company's existing LAN, WAN, and Internet connectivity in place of proprietary wiring. This reduces the time and cost of installation, and also lets security dealer service and support personnel interact with eMerge through a common Web browser. Dealers do not have to install or maintain software on a PC server or client, controlling the eMerge platform from any computer with Internet access.
With no software to install, no PC's or servers to tie-up system resources, and the ability to take advantage of existing network and wireless infrastructure, eMerge offers a compelling return on investment for the installing security community as well as end customers. Network connectivity and the browser-managed interface of eMerge allow users and security dealers to monitor, control, and maintain the system from any computer at any location with a network connection.
