Honeywell to Provide Security for Northern Quest Casino

Oct. 5, 2004
Enterprise-Wide integration is designed to simplify system operation

Honeywell today announced that North American Video has selected the company's enterprise-wide security solution for implementation at the Northern Quest Casino. The 159,000-square-foot casino, which is owned by the Kalispel Tribe in Spokane, Wash., will be equipped with a 540 input enterprise-wide digital video recording system when the project is complete by the end of 2004.

Honeywell's MAX-1000 CCTV Management System and ULTRAKeyTM keyboard controller will replace Northern Quest's existing video matrix to provide the highest quality video recording system. The MAX-1000 makes total video security integration possible. The system allows all security components - CCTV, matrix switches, digital video recorders, point-of-sales data, monitors and thousands of surveillance cameras - to be linked together.

ULTRAKey is a fully programmable CCTV keyboard with touch-screen display that simplifies the operation of large video systems. Honeywell's Digital Video Recording System will also be installed, eliminating the need for videotapes, improving picture quality and dramatically reducing the time it takes to review footage.

"Honeywell understands that managing all components of a casino's security system is complicated work, and we offer integrated solutions to simplify the process," said Scott Harkins, vice president of North American Sales for Honeywell Video Systems. "The installation at Northern Quest illustrates our commitment to providing solutions for the gaming industry, including simplified camera selection, instantaneous review of recorded video, 'good as live' recording quality and integrated point of sale."

"The gaming industry has traditionally been one of the first market segments to adopt new security technologies, and Northern Quest is no exception. We were glad to partner with Honeywell once again because of their proven solutions in digital video technology," said Cynthia Freschi, president of security systems integrator North American Video, which provides system design through equipment installation and training. "We are honored to be selected by Northern Quest to enhance their video surveillance and security system capabilities using technology from Honeywell."

North American Video, from fully staffed offices located in New Jersey, New York, Washington and Las Vegas, plus field offices located across the country, serves a wide range of clients, including numerous casinos, schools, corporations, retail, banking and financial institutions.
