Low-light color offering offers high-resolution, ideal for industrial, retail and casino operations

Sanyo Security Video introduces one of the industry's best performing low-light cameras with 520 TV lines super high resolution, VCC-6584. The extra high resolution provides maximum detail and sharp images making the camera ideal for industrial and commercial applications such as retail stores, banks, and casinos. The camera will be shown in Booth #3024 at the ASIS Expo in Dallas, September 27-29, 2004.

The VCC-6584 Digital DSP camera from Sanyo Security Video provides high quality color images even in very low light conditions, down to 0.5 lux with an F1.2 lens. This is better performance than most color cameras used in security applications.

"This extremely versatile little camera literally leaves other cameras in the dark," said Raul Calderon, Sanyo's National Product Development Manager. "Such outstanding images in low-light situations will boost identification in demanding surveillance installations."

The 520 TV-line Super High-Resolution provides over 10% increase in resolution over normal high-resolution cameras. This feature allows the system to maximize the resolution on digital platforms, resulting in less degradation in analog-to-digital conversion.

The DSP circuit uses Sanyo's latest algorithm to provide superior natural color reproduction. Smears are reduced and sharper, crisper images are allowed.

Another feature of the VCC-6584 are two different types of backlight compensation, which is user-selectable. The Multi-spot photometry system divides the image into 64 separate areas that are analyzed separately to determine the lighting conditions of all objects within the scene. This is perfect for fine-tuning the output of the camera. With the Center-zone photometry system, luminance is measured at the center of the image and the automatic lens aperture adjusts for a clear image even when backlit.

The camera can accept both DC and Video type auto iris lenses and is compatible with CS mount lenses. The camera operates on 24V AC or 12-15V DC.
