A new digital DSP camera with super high resolution of 520 TV lines and designed to fit into a 6" dome or wall-mounted, is introduced by Sanyo Security Video. The compact color camera is inconspicuous but retains all the features of full-size cameras. The camera will be shown in Booth #3024 at the ASIS Expo in Dallas, September 27-29, 2004.
The VCC-5884's compact design (2.48"Wx2.68"Hx2.01"D) and more than 520 lines of high resolution, make the camera ideal for installations where space is limited but sharp, color images are critical such as a casino installation. The 520 TV-line Super High-Resolution provides over 10% increase in resolution over normal high-resolution cameras. This feature allows the system to maximize the resolution on digital platforms, resulting in less degradation in analog-to-digital conversion. In addition, the Automatic Gain Control On-Off Function is valuable in varying casino applications.
According to Raul Calderon, Sanyo's National Product Development Manager, "The Sanyo VCC-5884 was designed for surveillance applications where sharp, clear images are vital, such as retail, banking, and especially casino applications. In addition, the design addresses the problem of space restrictions because the camera is ideally flexible to fit into a small dome or to be wall-mounted."
For detailed resolution in all lighting conditions, the VCC-5884 is equipped with a center-zone photometry system which provides a clear image even when backlit. Minimum illumination is down to 1.0 lux at F1.2. The camera also incorporates automatic white balance control.
Other features of the color camera include dual power requirement, 24V AC or 12-15V DC. A signal-to-noise ratio of more than 50dB with a 1/3" 410,000 pixel CCD is offered. Built with all solid-state components, the unit has excellent immunity to shock and vibration. Highly versatile, the VCC-5884 utilizes CS-Mount and is top or bottom selectable for mounting in a dome or on the wall.
