COURTENAY, British Columbia - JOIN Computer & Control, a manufacturer of enterprise class Digital Video Recorders (DVR), Network Video Recorders (NVR) and Facility Management Platforms, has announced the immediate availability of its JOINPRO Video Surveillance System.

Based on JOIN's technology, coupled with Digi-Data's STORM Xtreme Storage Management technology and Sanbolic's Melio and La Scala products, JOINPRO delivers a scalable, high-capacity video surveillance solution that provides:

  • Support from 1 to 61,200 video/audio channels capturing from analog cameras, IP cameras and IP web servers in a wide range of capture speeds (1/16th to 30 fps per channel).
  • Support for multiple resolutions (QCIF, CIF, 2CIF, DCIF, 4CIF and D1) and several compression methods (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, MPEG-4/H.264 and MJPEG).
  • Extended video storage through the combination of Digi-Data's storage technology, offering a high-availability, no single point of failure storage management technology expandable to 330TB per system and Sanbolic's revolutionary file system which enables data sharing and freedom from LUN/volume size limitations imposed by standard operating systems.
  • Optional integrated DVR Facility Management Platform compatible with hundreds of devices and systems, including Access Control, HVAC, Parking Lot Management, Time and Attendance. DI/DO, Professional Alarm Access, ID Control, Electronic Guide, Building Monitor and Control, A/D and POS.

"JOINPRO excels at bringing together many different inputs into a sensible GUI that allows customers to manage their environments instead of their technology," said Rod Russell, General Manager of JOIN's North American operations.

"Traditional storage systems for surveillance video applications have until now been limited by the number of DVR systems that can be supported by a storage volume. Through this shared project JOIN's partners have managed to build a scalable, networked camera surveillance system that is able to capture and transport high volumes of quality video anytime, anywhere," said Eva Helen, VP of Business Development at Sanbolic, Inc.

Through the combination of Digi-Data's storage, and Sanbolic's Melio File system and LaScala volume management software, JOIN has created a cost- efficient storage solution that is easy to install, deploy and manage. The open-system shared-SAN architecture makes it easier to build midsize to very large networked video systems that are efficient in real-time displaying, as well as short-term and long-term video archiving. The JOINPRO system offers the ideal solution for networked surveillance applications of all sizes in government, corporate and industrial environments, urban monitoring and airport surveillance applications.

"Only through a joint effort of three best of breed technology providers could a solution so dynamic and powerful be created," said Vince Scarlata, Director of Worldwide Channel Sales for Digi-Data. "Each component in the JOINPRO system offers the industry's best in functionality, reliability, and specifications. When JOINed together they create a system unmatched by any other."

JOINPRO will be marketed through a network of systems integrators who focus on the security market. End users and resellers interested in this solution should contact JOIN directly.
