Geoff Craighead Named as Chairman, ASIS Commercial Real Estate Council

Craighead, an expert in security and life safety in high-rise facilities, to chair commercial real estate council for 2005

Geoff Craighead, CPP, a recognized expert on managing security and life safety in commercial high-rise facilities, has been appointed as Chairman of the ASIS Commercial Real Estate Council for 2005.

This council investigates and reports on security problems in offices and multi-residential dwellings, and public assembly facilities. The council encourages communication among building designers, construction personnel, and security personnel.

Craighead, author of the acclaimed book, High-Rise Security and Fire Life Safety, second edition, has just completed six years of service on the ASIS Professional Certification Board (PCB), which administers certification programs for security professionals throughout the world. He is currently Vice President of High-Rise and Real Estate Services for Securitas Security Services USA, Inc., and provides support for the many high-rise facilities that Securitas services throughout the United States.

He is certified by the Los Angeles Fire Department to provide high-rise life safety services, and is Board Certified in Security Management as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) by ASIS International. He is Co-Chair of the BOMA Greater Los Angeles Security and Emergency Preparedness Committee, and a member of the National Fire Protection Association, and of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat.
