Company offers redundancy for central stations unable to operate out of their own facilities

Bay City, MI - This week the DICE Disaster Recovery and ASP Hosting Center demonstrated the highest level of accounts routed since it opened in 2002. Totaling over 100,000 accounts, DICE Corporation's Disaster Recovery and ASP Hosting Center provided redundancy backup, monitoring, and hosting services for multiple central stations.

A portion of those accounts belonged to Devcon Security Services of Naples, Fla. They initiated Disaster Recovery to maintain their monitoring operations remotely. This secured the safety of their customers throughout the state of Florida while they endured Hurricane Wilma.

Devcon started routing their receiver and voice lines to DICE Corporation headquarters in Bay City, Michigan at approximately 2:30 a.m. Monday morning. Knowing their customers would continue to be monitored, they were able to send their employees home to ride out the hurricane.

"It was a difficult decision to transfer our customers. Once we had all our accounts transferred to the disaster recovery location, it was a huge relief to know that the monitoring could continue when the storm hit. We knew that our customers were being monitored and all of our people were able to be home with their families during the storm," said Paul Dunham, Central Station Manager, Devcon Security Services.

DICE Corporation monitored for Devcon until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. At that point in time Devcon was able to monitor their signals remotely while one operator continued monitoring from DICE Corporation. The additional alarm accounts were still being handled from the hurricane Katrina aftermath and from customers that used DICE ASP Hosting services.

"The account level that we were monitoring was something we were ready for. The bottom line is that in our industry, our customers' need a secure solution for data protection, their customers' security is too important," said Clifford V. Dice, CEO of DICE Corporation.
