Videolarm Introduces New Vandal Resistant Day/Night Camera

Videolarm, a closed circuit television (CCTV) camera and accessory innovator and manufacturer based in Decatur, Ga., announced the release of its new Elite Vandal Resistant Day/Night camera. This next generation camera features the convenience of a compact, all-in-one system with the durability of a cast aluminum vandal-resistant housing for reliable equipment protection. The aesthetically pleasing, yet rugged, design blends into a wide range of interior and exterior environments.

The Elite features a high-resolution, true day/night camera that shifts from color to B/W at 1.6 lux. To further enhance its nighttime viewing capabilities, the camera is fully compatible with Videolarm's semi-covert illumination (850 nanometers or nm) and fully covert illumination (950 nm) IR illuminators for low- and no-light CCTV surveillance of distances up to 660 feet.

"It is important to note that this vandal resistant camera is available with a fixed camera or the only functional pan/tilt zoom camera in a 3" dome for indoor and outdoor settings on the market," said David Krysh, Videolarm vice president of marketing and sales. Engineered with a snap-fit, three-axis bracket, the camera can be easily adjusted or removed to access internal electronics. The next-generation, vandal resistant camera is available with modular designed options for surface, pendant or mount wall applications, as well as pan/tilt or pan/tilt zoom. Additional features of the next generation camera include:

  • Auto iris lens
  • Optional factory installed twisted pair transmitter module
  • Low light sensitivity: Color 0.75 lux and B/W 0.05 lux, and
  • Optional 24 VAC heater/blower for low temperature environments

The Elite body is cast aluminum, and the 3" dome is made of polycarbonate for added protection. It is environmentally sealed, making it ideal for climate extremes and harsh outdoor applications.
