Alexandria, VA - The Security Industry Association (SIA) announces Rand C. Price, CAE, has been chosen as its new Associate Executive Director.
"It has taken nearly four months to fill the SIA Associate Executive Director (AED) slot, but in late November, we were able to finally bring on board an individual who I hope will have a long and prosperous tenure at the association," said Richard Chace, CEO. "Rand's credentials certainly speak for themselves and I look forward to his considerable skills being put to work, to the benefit of the association."
Price is a native Washingtonian, reared in suburban Maryland, who has spent his entire 21-year career in association management in a myriad of disciplines. He has served in varying capacities for such diverse fields as veterinary surgery, phlebology, museums, psychiatry, nursing, code enforcement and cardiology.
He has worked for four different association multi-management companies (AMCs) in the greater Washington vicinity. He was most recently employed at SmithBucklin Corporation, recognized as the world's largest AMC, headquartered in Chicago, in their DC satellite office. Prior to that, he was the director of education and meetings at the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy, a neighboring Alexandria-based association.
Rand has served as the executive director of more than 15 associations during his career and brings substantial and broad-based association management expertise to SIA. He is certified as a certified association executive (CAE) as conferred by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and remains involved with one of ASAE's volunteer committees. He holds an undergraduate degree in political science and government from Frostburg State University in Western Maryland.
As SIA's new AED, Rand will oversee all internal program development and management and coordinate those activities with the SIA Executive Director.
