OSI Systems Inc. announced that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has begun operating its Eagle mobile cargo inspection system at the Port of Savannah, Georgia.

Developed and manufactured by ARACOR, an OSI Systems company, the Eagle is a high-performance 6 MEV X-ray inspection system that rapidly and accurately inspects containers and trucks at seaports and land border crossings.

The Eagle's high-energy X-ray imaging system can produce a high-resolution image of a 20-foot container in less than 10 seconds.

The Port of Savannah is the first recipient of an Eagle system delivered under a multi-year contract between ARACOR and CBP.
