Over 350 Kentucky State and Franklin County police and sheriffs are now equipped with BIO-key software

WALL, N.J. -- BIO-key International Inc., a leader in finger-based biometric identification and wireless public safety solutions, announced it was awarded a contract by Franklin County, Kentucky to equip Frankfort Police and Franklin County Deputies with MobileCOP(TM) software.

The Frankfort City Police and Franklin County Sheriff Departments purchased the BIO-key solution as part of a Homeland Security Grant focusing on interoperability from Independence Communications, a BIO-key business partner responsible for the integration of the system into their current operations. Over 350 Kentucky State and Franklin County police and sheriffs are now equipped with BIO-key software that arms them with fast, secure access to local, state, and national databases using the most advanced wireless capabilities available today. Officers can retrieve vital information such as motor vehicle records and warrants in seconds. The software also gives officers real-time, silent and secure communications capability via text messaging.
