ORLANDO, FLORIDA -- SimplexGrinnell is better positioned than ever before to deliver integrated security and life-safety solutions that help protect life and property and improve emergency management at customer locations, thanks to newly developed technology that integrates two flagship products manufactured by Tyco Fire & Security.

The integration technology brings together the complementary capabilities of the Simplex 4100U fire alarm platform and the Software House C·CURE 800/8000 security management software, both from Tyco Fire & Security. SimplexGrinnell, a leader in fire and life-safety systems and services, is showcasing the integration this week at its booth at ASIS International 2005 in Orlando, Florida.

Responding to the Integration Trend
With the trend toward integration continuing and clients increasingly interested in emergency preparedness, the integration of the Tyco-manufactured fire and security products means SimplexGrinnell can more completely meet the customer requirements of today’s world. Using the new technology, SimplexGrinnell can provide integrated solutions that better protect life, property and assets, particularly in healthcare, education and commercial property settings, where the interest in this type of integration is keenest.

“The integration of Simplex 4100U and C·CURE 800/8000 represents a significant advancement in our ability to serve customers looking for integrated, enterprise-wide solutions,” says Tom Giannini, CPP, director, integrated security systems at SimplexGrinnell. “This allows us to give end-user customers the ability, through an easy-to-use information management workstation, to seamlessly manage their most critical life-safety systems from a single platform. It helps streamline the crisis management process and improves response to emergency situations, by in-house employees and first responders as well.”

After-Incident Reporting
The Simplex 4100U-C·CURE integration also provides after-incident reporting of video, monitoring and other life-safety systems events – an information management tool that can be invaluable in analyzing and improving emergency response. The technology itself works by enabling communications from the Simplex 4100U fire panel to be transmitted to C·CURE 800/8000 software through a networked or stand-alone serial data port. While the technology provides central logging of events, it’s supplemental to the fire alarm system and does not serve as the primary annunciation of events.
