IPIX Names New Vice President of Sales

Alfredo Perez Jr., a 25-year high-technology veteran, joins company

RESTON, Va. -- IPIX Corporation, a premier supplier of 360-degree, immersive imaging technologies for visual intelligence applications, announced today its appointment of Alfredo Perez Jr. as Vice President of Sales, North America. In this new position, Perez will lead the company's North American sales team and will develop and execute the IPIX corporate sales strategy.

Previously, Perez served as Regional Vice President of Sales for Southeast and Mid-Atlantic Region of McDATA Corporation in Broomfield, Colo. where he generated $47.5 million in revenue in 2004. Perez held sales executive positions with Convio, Inc. of Austin, Texas, Selectica, Inc. of San Jose, Calif., and Sterling Software of Dallas, Texas. In his first 18 months at Convio, Perez increased revenues from $3.25 million to $6.85 million and the overall customer base from 10 to 200 customers.

Perez generated $5 million in revenue during his first six months at Selectica, where he was responsible for implementing partnerships with systems integrators. While at Sterling Software, Perez's leadership of a 60 person sales team resulted in a 500% revenue growth over four years. He also orchestrated the sales strategy that established Sterling Software as the market leader in OS390 network management.
