MONTREAL -- Memory Experts International (MXI), a leading provider of secure, portable data storage devices, took the wraps off its "top secret" biometric USB product -- Outbacker(TM) -- capable of delivering storage power of a PC in a 3 by 5 inch personal data device.

As the world's first fully ruggedized, pocket-sized hard disk drive (HDD), Outbacker comes in two sizes, 20 gigabytes and 40 gigabytes. Both versions come with 2 factor authentication, biometric (fingerprint) access control and user password. The Outbacker employs AES encryption to ensure data security and is powered via USB 2.0 connectivity. The Outbacker is compatible with all operating systems in zero footprint mode.

"Outbacker's huge storage capacity and ultra fast data access means you can quickly and easily package your entire desktop, all your Internet favorites, your documents folders and your email files, on a single, secure and completely mobile device," said Mike Kieran, director of sales and marketing at MXI. "We have listened to our customer's needs and are delivering a product capable of meeting the demand for a secure, high speed, large volume data transportation vehicle with the flexibility to interoperate with all operating systems."

The Outbacker's multi-layer security and 128 bit AES encryption delivers full confidence to its users by ending fear of device theft. The Outbacker's comprehensive suite of management software permits the enrollments of five users (10 fingerprints) so the device can be utilized by more than one person without the need to share secure folders.
