Network video product manufacturer establishes sales office in Toronto

Axis Communications, the global leader in the network video market, announced today the opening of the company's Canadian sales office in Toronto. The office will further Axis' reach into the world's ninth largest economy and will enable the company to more effectively conduct business and expand sales in Canada.

"Demand for Axis' network video products in Canada has grown significantly in recent years," said Fredrik Nilsson, general manager of Axis Communications. "By expanding our local presence with this new office, we expect to substantially grow our sales over the next year."

The network video market is the fastest growing segment in video surveillance, according to research company JP Freeman and Co., which is expecting worldwide network camera sales to surpass analog camera sales by 2008.

Robert Moore, who has several years of experience in the Canadian security and information technology industries, will serve as the Canadian sales manager. In this role, Mr. Moore will manage Axis' relationships with Canadian partners and resellers, and will head network video sales and new business development. He will report directly to Larry Newman, director of sales for North America.
