OEM agreement will create appliance for SMB market

MANASSAS, Va. -- NCS Technologies Inc. announced that it has entered into a strategic OEM agreement with St. Bernard Software Inc., a global provider of essential security solutions that protect against data loss, system threats, Internet abuse and unsolicited email. Under the terms of this agreement, NCS Technologies will provide OEM appliance manufacturing services for St. Bernard Software's ePrism(TM) M500 appliance, an email filtering appliance designed to provide small and mid-sized businesses with an easy-to-use, effective email security solution.

"The nature of business today requires that organizations take extra steps to ensure their networks are protected at the perimeter," said Gary Stowell, Vice President of Product Management and Business Development at St. Bernard. "Solution providers like NCS give us the ability to develop true appliances without the overhead inherent with server-based solutions. By partnering with NCS, we can deliver the ePrism M500 technology as part of a stronger, more complete email filtering solution designed specifically for the SMB's."

The ePrism M500 is an email filtering appliance that combines next- generation spam filtering technology with award-winning Kaspersky Labs Anti- Virus(R) to provide superior perimeter defense against spam and email borne malicious code. Powered by eGuard(TM), a database of human reviewed spam profiles and customized anti-spam heuristics, the ePrism M500 prevents spam without stopping business critical emails. Designed for the SMB, the ePrism M500 delivers performance, protection, and value out of the box at a price that fits any budget. The ePrism M500 has the power to stop spam and achieve exceptional ROI from the moment it is connected to a network.

The ePrism M500 is based on the 100-P appliance platform offered by NCS. The 100-P is a 1U rack mountable set-top appliance platform that features a low cost Intel Celeron or Intel Pentium 4 CPU, 2GB RAM, and one 40GB or higher capacity EIDE hard disk. It comes standard with two 100MB Ethernet ports. The 100-P can smoothly run Linux, Windows or BSD.

"Our alliance with St. Bernard is a significant milestone for our business," said Pranay Prakash, Executive Director, OEM Servers and Appliances for NCS. "St. Bernard provides a large number of organizations throughout the world with a solid, reliable, easy-to-use email filtering appliance that protects against spam and viruses. We will continue to provide our superior appliance services to the satisfaction of St. Bernard's customers."
