Edwards Signaling & Security Systems announces a new web-based training module designed to help distributors create a new business profit center by adding fire alarm control systems to their product offerings. The short, electronic tutorial utilizes Edwards? FireShield product line to instruct distributors on fire alarm system basics, components, markets and applications. The module is available at www.edwards-signals.com by clicking on the Training tab at the top of the Home page.

The module also demonstrates step-by-step sales tools that can automatically generate a bill of materials and a complete submittal package based on results of a self-administered questionnaire covering all relevant aspects of fire alarm system installation. The instructional program is geared toward fire alarm systems for structures up to 100,000 square feet including churches, strip malls, multi-unit residential sites and smaller commercial and industrial buildings.

"Many distributors have generally left the fire alarm system market to the specialists," said Paul Suzio, Vice President, General Manager at Edwards. "We want to break this mystique by giving distributors information on why and how they can increase sales by adding our FireShield line to their range of offerings. FireShield represents a $150,000,000 annual market that is still growing."

The FireShield training module is simple and easy to use and allows distributors to learn at their own pace with Pause, Rewind and Forward functions. A self-administered "Quiz" at the end of the program indicates whether the user has properly understood all the key concepts of a fire alarm control system.
