WASHINGTON -- Red Cliff Consulting announced today that noted author Keith Jones has joined the Red Cliff team. Jones, whose prior experience includes information security consulting and expert witness testimony, will help grow Red Cliff's forensics and incident response practice. Jones will also lend his expertise in research and development, tool analysis, and software design to support the groups efforts for both industry and government clients.

Prior to joining the Red Cliff team, Jones was the Director of Incident Response and Computer Forensics in the services division of Foundstone. He is currently completing work on his second book, Real Digital Forensics, to be published in the spring of 2005 by Addison Wesley. His prior work, The Anti-Hacker Tool Kit, was well received in the industry as a definitive reference on critical applications for security experts.

Red Cliff President, Kevin Mandia, stated, "I'm very excited about Keith Jones joining the company. He provides the capability to develop sophisticated techniques and tradecraft to address the information security and computer forensic challenges that emerging portable technologies promote. He will be a tremendous asset in our efforts to help customers identify and reduce threats to their information security posture."

Jones added, "Red Cliff Consulting is unique because they have such a strong team of consultants; they have shaped the information security posture of financial organizations, as well as testified in court as computer forensic experts. Their services thread from understanding low-level technologies to understanding the business factors, organizational structure, and risk that impact the effectiveness of information security programs. I was eager to join a team of seasoned practitioners and one of the premier consulting groups in the information security field," said Jones.
