Honeywell announces general market release of LYNX Touch 5100 alarm panel

June 12, 2012
System features Wi-Fi and 4G alarm communications, full Z-Wave integration, Android mobile Internet device and enhanced Total Connect capabilities

MELVILLE, N.Y., June 11, 2012 – Honeywell today announced the general market release of LYNX Touch 5100, the latest version of the company’s popular self-contained wireless touchscreen security system. The product is the first of its kind to offer Wi-Fi, as well as an alarm radio that can communicate via 4G network. The IntelliPath 4G communicator helps maximize the system’s longevity and its capability to find, connect and auto-select any available communications network whether it’s 2G, 3G or 4G – saving time and speeding up installations.

The LYNX Touch 5100 integrates with Z-Wave-enabled thermostats, locks and lighting systems to create comprehensive home automation capabilities at an affordable price. An optional Android Mobile Internet Device with a preloaded application lets users control the system within their Wi-Fi coverage area.

The addition of Wi-Fi allows dealers to include the Honeywell Total Connect™ remote interactive services basic package on any installation using an IP communicator and AlarmNet services. Homeowners can also choose to upgrade to more advanced versions of Total Connect to activate features like remote camera viewing, weather, news, traffic information and Z-Wave device control.

Prior to this general market release, LYNX Touch 5100 had been showcased at the ISC West Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, and was available to a limited number of security dealers.

Security dealers can also take advantage of marketing tools including the consumer website and the LYNX Touch Dealer Toolkit, which includes sales literature, videos, product demos, apps and more.
