ASIS Accolade Awarded to SpotterRF C40, the first radar under $12K

Sept. 7, 2012
24/7 All-Weather, 20 Acre Wide Area Coverage for Critical Infrastructure & Public Protection

OREM, Utah‹September 5, 2012 On the heels of receiving the prestigious ASIS Accolades 2012 award, SpotterRF today announced Q4 availability of the Spotter C40, the smallest and lowest-cost Surveillance Radar for commercial and homeland security environments at a cost less than most PTZ Thermal Cameras. Leveraging technology previously available only to the U.S. military, the Spotter C40 is the first of its class and makes intrusion protection radar as inexpensive and easy to use as IP cameras. It provides all weather 24/7 coverage regardless of visibility at a never before possible cost of less than $12,000. This breakthrough compact surveillance radar will be displayed Sept. 10th at ASIS 2012 (booth #1244) alongside breaking partnership news.

³While billions of dollars are spent protecting the Œfront door¹ in vulnerable infrastructure environments, 87%* of U.S. airports have not performed threat assessments of the perimeter,² states Logan Harris, CEO for SpotterRF. ³Recent security breaches demonstrate that bridges, power plants, nuclear facilities and even smaller airports remain vulnerable to theft, vandalism and terrorism. The Spotter C40 solves this problem to better protect the public.²

Before SpotterRF, providing 24x7 wide area security was very difficult. System Integrators were limited to either the use of multiple large Ground Surveillance Radar like ICX¹s STS1400 that cost $70K each plus extensive training, or to the installation of multiple IR cameras that cost more than $20K each, along with a large Video Management System that costs hundreds of thousands of dollars. Now, a single C40 and IR camera reveals any movement within 20 acres line of sight for a fraction of the cost of gap-ridden multi-camera systems.

³SpotterRF radar greatly enhances the range and intelligence of the best camera and analytics available,² states Brad Dangerfield of Industrial Camera Systems. ³It¹s easy to show clients the value of adding this low-cost radar capability to new or existing systems.²

The Spotter C40 automates the difficult work of monitoring range-limited cameras, empowering security professionals at a much lower cost. The Spotter C40:

  • Provides 20 Acres of high end radar tracking in a small (1.5lb), low cost (<$12K) product
  • Automatically cues PTZ cameras on up to 20 moving objects
  • Sets up in less than 10 minutes with Web user interface
  • Integrates using standard IP (Internet Protocol)
