San Diego, CA (September 28, 2012) – OnSSI is showcasing the newest version of its flagship Ocularis surveillance and security software platform at the 2012 International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) show, highlighting new features such as automatic online camera licensing and streamlined, more granular management of user rights. Also new at IACP is Ocularis-X server software, providing clear, detailed and full-motion surveillance video immediately over most web clients. The software manages up to 9 HD video streams at full frame rate, enabling each camera to be played back and reviewed on its own, in full screen, or at the same time as other cameras.
OnSSI's Ocularis platform is widely used in citywide surveillance applications across the country and worldwide. In Orlando and Orange County, Florida, 150 active cameras keep watch on a regional video system; in Dallas, Texas, an Ocularis system of 115 cameras enables sworn officers to view cameras 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The new Ocularis Version 3.5 on display at IACP reflects a renewed and expanded emphasis on system-wide administration and optimized hardware utilization. Automatic camera licensing enables a system administrator to connect and replace cameras – which are immediately fully operational – whenever convenient. A new 30-day grace period allows system administrators to license new cameras in batches once a month. Ocularis provides the broadest camera and device support in the industry, and is compatible with third-party technologies such as video analytics, access control, environmental detection and more.
OnSSI's new Ocularis-X server software uses High-Definition Interactive Streaming (HDIS) technology to deliver up to 9 simultaneous megapixel (HD) video streams to web and devices running a standard web browser, even on a low-speed connection or across limited bandwidth networks such as 3G/4G, broadband and the Internet.
OnSSI is also presenting a Learning Laboratory session at the show on October 1st, 2012 at 3:30pm. At the presentation, titled “Efficient, Intuitive: Benefits of IP Video Surveillance and Security Management Software”, OnSSI will speak about how video surveillance software can help municipalities increase security, lower crime in areas under surveillance and minimize operational costs.
