Companies provide PSIM solution for fuel and gas transportation

GLOBAL RELEASE - November 22, 2012 -CNL Software, a world leader in Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software, and e-Thele SQD Networks a market leader in the design, implementation and support of PSIM solutions for situational management in South Africa are working together on a comprehensive security management system for a fuel and gas transportation organization.

The solution based on IPSecurityCenterTM, CNL Software’s PSIM integration and management platform, is being implemented by e-Thele SQD Networks to offer enhanced security management for increased protection of staff and assets, as well as the transportation of billions of litres of fuel and millions of cubic metres of gas, throughout the organization’s operation in South Africa. It brings together a large number of safety/security systems including access control, CCTV monitoring fire detection, fire suppression and intrusion detection to provide real time situation management and process guidance to operators located in five strategically placed control rooms across the country.

IPSecurityCenter enables data collection, verification, analysis, resolution and tracking; all providing operators with the vital intelligence they need to resolve incident in a single view.

Any changes to security status or any threats to the security estate are immediately visible and the appropriate Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is enforced. The solution also offers the ability to integrate to business systems as well as security systems such as those for HR and Time & Attendance.

“IPSecurityCenter was the only solution that could not only provide the power, scalability and high availability to meet the demands of this mission critical project”, says Wolfgang Engling, Managing Director of e-Thele SQD Networks, “but was also customizable and flexible enough to support expanding operational needs”.

“The challenge on large scale, wide spread infrastructure protection projects is getting the right information, to the right people at the right time to initiate the fastest possible response to a situation”, explains John Lunnerfeldt, Product Manager at CNL Software. “Through the intelligent workflow, service oriented architecture and logic engine, IPSecurityCenter can ensure that vital information from the control room is delivered immediately to the appropriate response teams and stakeholders. Using a number of channels, such as VoIP, telephony, SMS and/or e-mail, real-time situation data can be sent anywhere across the estate, country or globe”.
