Razberi Technologies announces ServerSwitch appliance powered by Milestone Arcus surveillance software

Carrollton/Copenhagen (PRWEB) April 15, 2013 -- Razberi Technologies, the innovative manufacturer of the patented ServerSwitch appliance, announces the upcoming launch of a new low-cost video surveillance product pre-integrated with Milestone Arcus, the new embedded video management software (VMS) from Milestone Systems.

Razberi Technologies will offer a new ServerSwitch appliance model that is powered by Milestone Arcus VMS. The razberi ServerSwitch appliance combines the functions of a network video recorder (NVR), high-powered Ethernet smart switch and embedded video management software. This compact, low-cost solution is ideal for simple, stand-alone or remote recording applications.

Powered by Arcus, the initial deployment of a razberi appliance is completed within minutes after connecting a wide choice of supported cameras. The Linux-based Milestone Arcus software is pre-installed and ready to go, right out of the box. Software updates are rolled out automatically.

The intuitive web-based interface allows users to view live video, search recorded video and export video evidence. The platform is compatible with Milestone Mobile 2013, an application for smart phones and tablets. Administrative users can manage power and smart switch functions through a simple web interface.

The razberi hardware models have either 4 or 16 Power over Ethernet (PoE) ports managed by an embedded smart Ethernet switch, with 8 and 24 port models to be released soon. The appliance storage capacity scales from 500 GB to 8 TB in a compact 1U form factor.

Future compatibility with Milestone XProtect Corporate will allow the Milestone Arcus-based razberi appliances to be centrally managed, similar to the central management already supported by the razberi models with embedded Milestone XProtect® VMS.

Razberi appliances are ideal for retail, small-office and other applications for simple, low-cost network video solutions in a single form factor.

“The razberi appliances are a perfect fit for Arcus,” says Lars Nordenlund, VP of Incubation and Ventures at Milestone Systems. “The razberi hardware embedded with Milestone Arcus software provides a simple but very effective solution that meets basic video surveillance requirements. The solution opens doors for IP solutions in the entry-level market.”

The new Milestone Arcus-powered razberi appliance will complement the existing line-up of razberi models and software options that provide a full spectrum of features starting from stand-alone appliances to highly integrated networks of appliances in enterprise configurations.
