Select Security announced the latest member of its senior management team with the addition of Steve Firestone to the newly created position of executive vice president.
Firestone brings many years of executive experience from within the security industry to the role. Previously, he held the titles of chief marketing officer and executive vice president for Entergy Corp., and chief operating officer at Commonwealth Security. At both organizations, he was credited for leading companywide initiatives responsible for increasing internal efficiencies and rapidly growing sales channels while improving customer satisfaction levels.
Previously, as founder of his own consultancy, The Firestone Group, he led the development of the strategic and business plan for several technology start ups in the global wireless spectrum, alternative energy, bio-coal and mobile banking industries. Prior to this position, Firestone, as senior vice president, led the corporate consulting practice for Wasserman Media Group, providing business and marketing strategy for global brands like American Express, Nokia, T-Mobile and several leading financial institutions.
Firestone also served as the senior marketing executive at Office Depot where he was instrumental in developing brand strategy and marketplace positioning, alternative channel development, consumer and business customer insights and strategic vendor programs. While at Office Depot he also led initiatives to improve supply chain management, customer profitability and sales force optimization. During his tenure, the business to business channel grew at a rate four times the industry average.
"I am very pleased to be working once again with Select Security's owner and president, Patrick Egan," said Firestone. "He's built an organization to be proud of, where the customer always comes first, and I am excited to be a part of the team as we take Select Security to the next level in terms of growth and customer service."
As the executive vice president, Firestone is responsible for developing and maximizing sales channels, exploring untapped and underserved markets and implementing best practices for the multi-state sales force. Using his brand management experience, he also plays a leadership role in monitoring the integrity of the Select Security brand and the overall customer experience. Firestone has already been responsible for the launch of a new ERP system, sales force automation platform and central station operating software.
"This is an exciting time at Select Security and the time was ripe for Steve to join us," said Patrick Egan, president. "Our company is at the point where we are poised to leap from a good company, to a great, recognizable brand name. His experience with transforming companies like ours into world-class operations is well known within the industry, and I look forward to the changes I see on the horizon."
The addition of Firestone comes as Select Security is once again recognized as one of the fastest growing security companies in the U.S. In addition to being repeatedly named as one of Central Pennsylvania Business Journal's Top 50 Fastest Growing Companies, Select Security was recently honored for its growth on the Security Dealer & Integrator magazine's Fast50 ranking of rapidly growing companies.
