A Grippon store uses Avigilon HD dome cameras to create safer shopping environment

Brazil is quickly becoming one of the fastest growing markets in the surveillance industry. In fact, according to IMS Research, the country is currently the 11th largest market in the world for network video surveillance and is expected to get even larger in the coming years. Grippon is a growing department store chain based in Brazil. In 2011, Grippon opened its eighth location in Queimados, Rio de Janeiro - a 21,500 square foot store spread out across three floors.
Grippon deployed the Avigilon system to create a safe shopping environment for its patrons and protect the store from theft and crime. Grippon monitors both the interior and exterior of the store with 40 Avigilon HD dome cameras ranging from 1MP to 2MP and IT staff manage the system remotely from their desktops using the Avigilon Control Center software. Officials were also able to integrate existing cameras seamlessly with an Avigilon encoder.
