A range of ANSUL hand-portable fire extinguishers for various applications will be displayed throughout the booth to address the first line of defense for automated fire suppression systems that will round out the comprehensive fire solutions offered by TFPP. For example, the dining hall area will showcase K-GUARD kitchen-class fire extinguishers, the data center will highlight CLEANGUARD clean-agent fire extinguishers, and the science lab will feature SPILL-X chemical spill products and RED LINE cartridge-operated hand portable units during geology class sessions. Other classrooms will display SENTRY dry chemical extinguishers.
Abridged lecture sessions feature fire suppression experts
The Fire Suppression University booth will also offer condensed lecture hall-style sessions, where TFPP experts will engage guests in topics including, but not limited to, fire protection solutions for restaurants, vehicles, industrial hazards, water-based fire suppression and other special applications. These sessions will last between 10 and 15 minutes each.
Mini lectures will highlight topics including:
- Sprinkler Technologies for Storage – James Golinveaux will explore sprinkler technology challenges and solutions unique to storage scenarios, including how these solutions comply with NFPA 13 and FM 8-9 codes and standards.
- Residential Sprinkler Products – Darren Palmieri, manager, Residential Market Development, will discuss Rapid Response residential fire protection technologies as the industry’s most complete line of products in this category that meet all NFPA standards.
- Water Mist Protection of Industrial Fryers – Al Bunner, manager, Business Development, will speak on how water mist protection has gained commercial and third-party acceptance as an alternative to gas, chemical and water spray fire protection options for oil fryers in food processing facilities.
- NFPA Standards for Flammable Liquid Hazards – Skip Westbrook, territory manager, CHEMGUARD, will review the NFPA standards for protection against flammable liquid hazards and discuss the proper foam hardware and agents to be used in those situations.
- Industry Impact on Clean Agent Fire Suppression System Designs – Katherine Adrian, senior product manager, Engineered Systems, will inform attendees of NFPA 75, 76 and 2001 code and standard changes, and how they may impact the design of clean agent fire suppression systems.
- Common Fire Protection Hazards in Industrial Manufacturing – Zachary Magnone, senior engineer, will use a case study approach to illustrate common challenges associated with industrial manufacturing hazards, and the importance of analyzing and addressing them from multiple angles.
- Vehicle Fire Suppression Systems – Mark Neumann, director, Product Management, will provide perspective into advanced vehicle fire protection technologies for off-road equipment.
- Restaurant Fire Protection Systems – Neumann will review NFPA 96 and 17A standards, and underscore the importance of regular maintenance and inspections to protect people and property in hazardous kitchen environments.
TFPP will also offer to mini lectures for Spanish-speaking attendees exploring topics including:
- Water-Based Fire Suppression – Bruce Stewart, director, Sales, Latin America, will summarize the basics of water fire protection, including storage sprinkler technology, water mist protection for industrial fryers, and recent residential code changes.
- Fire Protection for Special Hazards – Christian Groff, senior regional sales manager, Latin America & Caribbean, will discuss fire protection for special hazards, including clean agent fire suppression systems, fire protection for industrial manufacturing, vehicle fire suppression systems and restaurant fire suppression systems. He will also provide an overview of NFPA standards for flammable liquids.
Upon completion of Fire Suppression University, attendees will receive a graduation photo taken as they exit the booth.
