Genetec to demo Security Center 5.2; integration of ASSA ABLOY electronic locks with Synergis; and Stratocast, cloud-based video surveillance solution

MONTREAL, -- June 25, 2013 - At ASIS 2013, on booth # 1914, Genetec, a pioneer in the physical security industry and a leading provider of world-class unified IP security solutions will demonstrate the latest version of Security Center the Company's unified security platform that blends video surveillance (Omnicast), access control (Synergis) and license plate recognition (AutoVu) into a single unified platform. Visitors to the Genetec booth will also be able to see the results of the integration between Synergis, Genetec’s IP-based Access Control solution, and ASSA ABLOY WiFi and PoE (Power over Ethernet) locks. Also showcased on the Genetec booth will be Stratocast, the Company's new cloud-based video surveillance solution.
New version of Security Center
The latest version of Security Center (v5.2) features new threat level management features that allow users to quickly respond to changing security conditions and potential threats as they develop. At the click of a button, security operators can activate pre-defined threat levels that automatically restrict entry through access-controlled doors, activate a complete lockdown in extreme cases, move PTZ cameras to specific positions to increase the coverage of a situation, and automatically change the recording quality and frame rate to guarantee the highest quality video for investigations.
With a new software-based video wall and display sharing functionalities, Security Center enhances collaboration in control rooms and throughout an organization for a fraction of the cost of specialized hardware. Software video walls can be easily assembled and configured using standard displays; the remote control and sharing of displays further augments video monitoring, access control and alarm management activities while providing organizations with a truly unified experience.
Synergis Integration with ASSA ABLOY Electronic Locks
Thanks to the integration between Synergis and ASSA ABLOY Electronic Locks, customers will have even more options when designing their physical security system. They will not only be able to pick the best technology for their needs, but they will also be able use Synergis to configure, synchronize and monitor their ASSA ABLOY Sargent and Corbin Russwin brands of electronic locks, together with their standard IP-based door controllers. When Synergis and ASSA ABLOY’s electronic locks are deployed alongside Genetec’s video surveillance products, users will view WiFi and PoE lock events and activities seamlessly linked with live or recorded video. This will give security professionals a more complete view of their installation than what is seen today with traditional access control products.
