Honeywell continues raising home automation profile

MELVILLE, N.Y., July 1, 2013 – Judges at the Electronic Security Expo (ESX) awarded Honeywell (NYSE:HON) multiple honors – including the conference’s top award – for two of its highest-profile technologies used to create “connected homes” by tying together security and home automation. The LYNX Touch 5100 security system was named Best Overall technology at the 2013 Maximum Impact Awards, and also won Best Alarm Equipment: Wireless Alarm Systems. Additionally, Honeywell’s Tuxedo Touch™ controller was named Best Alarm Equipment: Intrusion Alarm Control Panels. The awards were announced in conjunction with the 2013 ESX conference, held in Nashville, Tenn. June 17-21.
“Honeywell has made significant investments to integrate security and home automation systems to increase life safety and lifestyle features for homeowners, and receiving these honors shows how important integrated solutions are becoming for security professionals,” said Scott Harkins, president of Honeywell Security Products Americas. “The LYNX Touch 5100 security system and the Tuxedo Touch controller make security a bigger part of consumers’ daily routines. Establishing that connection can help security dealers grow their businesses and be more competitive in a space where competition is growing by the day.”
The annual Maximum Impact Awards recognizes products and services making a real bottom line impact on security integration and monitoring companies. The winners are selected by a distinguished panel of judges drawn from the leadership and ranks of ESX’s owner and sponsor associations, CSAA and ESA.
