Solution offers more options for authentication-based on conditions

Walkersville, MD (February 13, 2014) – Galaxy Control Systems announces the launch of a new integrated security management solution combining System Galaxy with Veridt’s Stealth Series Credential readers and software.

“The communication between System Galaxy controllers and Veridt readers provides an efficient mechanism for setting and adjusting authentication modes,” said Rick Caruthers, Executive Vice President, Galaxy Control Systems. “This enables the user to modify the control approach based on security conditions and according to threat levels issued by government agencies.”

System Galaxy, a scalable, enterprise-class access control and management solution, seamlessly integrates security and building management functions. Additional features include active directory support to enable real-time identity management, individualized identity-based door access, and the ability to generate specific reports for each screen view or credential holder. Data can be shared with other systems such as time and attendance, visitor management, time clocks, parking garages and personal messaging. System Galaxy accommodates unlimited users and is also accessible from mobile web browsers and designed for backward compatibility with all legacy Galaxy systems.

Veridt’s Stealth Series is a family of credential readers that provides a wide variety of authentication options to meet low, medium and high assurance security requirements including both non-biometric and biometric configurations in a compact form factor. The reader is designed for multi-factor authentication and is configured with both contact and contactless card read interfaces. Credentials supported include: PIV, PIV-I, TWIC, FRAC and CAC (legacy, NG, EP), as well as ISO standard formats.  All readers are IP-65 rated.
