System upgrade provides casino with the flexibility to grow as their needs demand

Brick, NJ (August 16, 2016) – Ongoing improvements to the LCO Casino, Lodge and Convention Center in Northern Wisconsin reached new heights with the most recent upgrades to the casino’s video surveillance system. Designed and built by North American Video (NAV), the system upgrade puts LCO Casino firmly on the path to an IP system.

“We value our long term relationship with LCO and their confidence in allowing us to guide their choices in this important step toward an IP system,” said Laurie Smock, Vice President, North American Video. “The system upgrade we’ve implemented will grow with their needs and allow for flexibility in time frame, integration and future product selection.”

Over the years, NAV supplied hardware and support for the casino’s video surveillance system as it was upgraded and expanded. New to this most recent improvement is a Honeywell 96-channel all-in-one server/RAID core switch which will accommodate the newer camera technologies when the move to IP is made. Meanwhile, the hybrid system runs on a dedicated network and supports the existing Honeywell analog cameras which run over RG59 cable.

A new video management system (VMS) from Honeywell controls the multiple sources of analog or digital video at the same time to ensure maximum use of the casino’s initial investments. Its single command and control interface intelligently determines the capabilities of each sub-system (i.e. cameras, monitors, matrix, etc.), allowing the management of any analog or digital video device through a unified configuration and viewer.

Installation of the new system took place while the previous system continued to function, to ensure uninterrupted surveillance while the casino remained open.

“We have been working with NAV for almost 20 years and this long-standing relationship allows us to work together with trust as a team,” Jim Smith, Executive Director, LCO Gaming Commission, LCO Casino. “NAV responds to our needs quickly and efficiently in this competitive market. There’s a shared commitment to ensure the end result meets quality and compliance needs.”

Casino gaming at LCO includes more than 600 slot machines, table games and bingo. Other amenities include a hotel, convention center and RV park. LCO Casino, Lodge and Convention Center is owned and operated by the Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians.
