Grant Lecky wins 5th Accolade for 2017

Dec. 5, 2017
Canadian security professional recognized by several cybersecurity organizations this year

Grant Lecky, Co-Founder of the Security Partners’ Forum has won the prestigious “Outstanding Achievement in Global Cybersecurity (OAGCS)” Award.  The award was bestowed by the Ontario College of Management and Technology at their Inaugural International Cyber Security and Intelligence Conference held in Toronto in early November.

The OAGCS is distinct from other awards as it bestows the highest recognition to an individual in the field of cybersecurity for their distinguished work, selfless service, and global cybersecurity leadership.

This award follows on the heels of Lecky being named to the highly prestigious list of the Canadian Who’s Who, a reference publication published and distributed annually by Grey House Publishing Canada.  Biographies are chosen on merit alone and those listed are selected because of the positions they hold in Canadian society, or because of the contribution they have made to life in Canada. Included are outstanding Canadians from business, academia, politics, sports, the arts, and sciences.

In addition to the above, Grant has been the recipient of three additional Awards / Honours in 2017 including being named to the IFSEC Global Top 50 Influencers in Security & Fire 2017 (Security Management, Education, and Thought Leadership Category).  In April, he was named to Carleton University’s “Top 75 for the 75th” – a list of notable and inspiring alumni in Honour of Carleton University’s 75th anniversary.  Lecky was also the recipient of the Cybersecurity Professional of the Year Award at the 2017 Cybersecurity Excellence Awards this past February.

Referencing his stellar year, Lecky told SecurityInfoWatch: “2017 will definitely go down as one of the best years in my career, not so much for the awards and accolades received, but for what we have been able to accomplish.  To be recognized by your peers is a feeling that is hard to describe, but to be recognized beyond your field, being recognized in general is the ultimate accolade and I am both humbled and honored for the awards I have received in 2017.  I would like to thank my colleagues, peers, and all those who continue to support my team and me in the work we are doing.”
