March Networks 8000 Series Hybrid NVR Platform Product Image

OTTAWA, ONTARIO, Jan 31, 2013March Networks®, a global provider of intelligent IP video solutions, is pleased to introduce its new 8000 Series Hybrid Network Video Recorders (NVRs). The 8000 Series provides the high-performance needed to support advanced video surveillance and business intelligence applications today and in the future. The platform maintains the unparalleled reliability, centralized video management capability and scalability that have made March Networks the No. 1 supplier of enterprise video recorders in the Americas and a leading provider worldwide.

“These powerful 8000 Series recorders represent a real step forward in technology and innovation while remaining true to our core tenets of reliability and rich software functionality,” said Net Payne, Chief Marketing Officer, March Networks. “They ensure organizations can transition to all IP video without sacrificing existing analog investments, and are engineered to support our video intelligence applications and deliver real business benefits to our customers. In addition, we’ve built the recorders with our channel partners in mind – introducing industry-first features and tools that help them save time and cut service costs in the field.”

For example, each 8000 Series platform comes complete with a QR code on the front panel. When the QR code is used in conjunction with the company’s freeGURU smartphone application for Apple and Android mobile devices, partners get instant access to product information, warranty status, express repair processing and troubleshooting tutorial support in the field.

Available in four flexible models with rack mount or stackable options, the 8000 Series Hybrid NVRs support up to 32 IP cameras, or any hybrid camera combination with as many as 16 analog cameras. Their optimized H.264 video compression – unique to March Networks – delivers detailed, high-definition (HD) video and noticeably sharper images from customers’ legacy analog cameras without increasing storage requirements.

To ensure video is not lost, the 8000 Series incorporates an embedded Linux operating system, an internal backup battery, real-time health monitoring and additional security features that protect data and safeguard hardware functionality during unexpected power losses. They can be managed with either the browser-based March Networks Command client or Visual Intelligence (R5) software, allowing organizations to choose the best solution for their needs.

March Networks Command Release 1.5
Command Enterprise Release 1.5, the latest version of the company’s award-winning video management system (VMS) software, complements the 8000 Series platforms by providing new capabilities that make it easier for organizations to gather valuable business intelligence and operate more efficiently.

March Networks Searchlight applications for banking fraud detection and investigation are now built into Command Enterprise and are easily accessed via the browser-based interface. This provides banking customers with a single software solution proven to substantially speed investigations, strengthen case evidence and reduce fraud-related losses. The optional analytics powering Searchlight can also be enabled on the new recording platform, so no additional hardware is required.

New IP Cameras
Additionally March Networks is offering two new IP cameras as part of a cost-effective IP video solution. Both the HD MegaPX WDR MiniDome Z and the standard-definition CamPX WDR MiniDome incorporate powerful Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) to ensure clear and detailed video capture in variable lighting applications, such as inside bank branches or retail stores. They employ advanced H.264 video compression for bandwidth and storage efficiency and are ONVIF compliant for easy third-party integration.
