IPVideo Corporation (IPVideo), a leading manufacturer of Video Management Systems (VMS) and Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) solutions, has introduced Sentry VMS Mobile, a uniquely powerful, free mobile app that provides users with unprecedented VMS control from most Apple and Android mobile devices. Support for the mobile app is built directly into the Sentry VMS platform and requires no additional, dedicated mobile servers to be added to the network to deliver this functionality. The app provides secure, user-authenticated access to live and recorded video from any camera on the network.
Unlike most mobile VMS apps, Sentry VMS Mobile mirrors many of the settings and features established within the thick client, including facility maps, layouts and camera lists, using the same left navigational menu already familiar to system users. Other advanced features include a motion indicator that automatically highlights video tiles where motion is occurring, as well as the ability to take snapshots of video, which can then be saved and emailed. PTZ cameras are controlled using familiar swipe and pinch-to-zoom gestures, and video playback can be immediately called up using familiar, “rewind / fast forward” type buttons within any video tile. Each mobile device can display up to 16 simultaneous video streams.
