Safemark Systems Set for Market Expansion; Appoints John Foley as Vice President

Sept. 24, 2004

In a move intended to prepare the company for a new phase of growth, Orlando-based Safemark Systems has announced the appointment of John Foley to the position of Vice President. Foley, a 17-year veteran of the in-room hotel safe industry, will assist Safemark with new product development and expansion into emerging markets, as well as implementing an aggressive direct sales effort worldwide.

"We are extremely excited to have John as an integral part of the Safemark team," said George Oelschig, Safemark's President. "Over the years, he has earned a reputation in the industry as one of the foremost authorities on hotel security and in-room electronic safes. His extensive experience and expertise in product development, integrated technology and sales strategies will help us achieve our goal of becoming a force to be reckoned with in the global hotel security arena."

Prior to joining SafeMark, Foley served as Vice President of Sales for a prominent manufacturer and distributor of in-room electronic safes and locking systems. With a background in mechanical engineering, he also has experience in POS technology and the F&B area of hospitality operations.

Safemark Systems is well known in the industry for their innovative revenue-generation programs that allow hotels to install advanced electronic safes in their guest rooms with no capital investment. Since pioneering this concept in the hotel market, Safemark has concentrated a large percentage of its resources to developing and managing those highly specialized programs. Currently, over 400,000 Safemark safes are installed in properties throughout the United States, Canada and the Caribbean islands. With Foley on board and new products currently in development, Safemark is now poised to pursue the upper tier of the market with direct sales and service programs.

"With most companies diversifying and diluting their product lines, Safemark has chosen to concentrate strictly on perfecting the in-room electronic safe," said Foley. "After thoroughly researching the market, I found that Safemark is the only company that is truly dedicated to its core business. Their unprecedented success in revenue-share safe programs has taught them that customer feedback and close interaction with their clients is crucial. Therefore, their customer service ethic is unmatched in the industry. I am honored that I have been chosen by Safemark to be part of this exciting new era in the organization."
