University hospital in China deploys HID Global access control solutions
IRVINE, Calif., July 31, 2012 – HID Global, trusted leader in solutions for the delivery of secure identity, announced that its networked access control solutions and contactless readers have been selected by First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University in Guangzhou, China to provide multi-layered security with advanced access control level settings and centralized monitoring to improve the hospital’s overall security in key access zones. The new access control system is also scalable to address the hospital’s future expansion plan.
Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University deployed HID Global’s VertX V1000 networked access controllers, iCLASS R10 contactless readers and Genuine HID credentials for building access control to manage the large influx of patients, visitors and staff. Heightened physical security throughout the hospital was achieved by assigning different levels of building access to staff based on job functions. For example, only doctors and nurses in charge of intensive care units and operating rooms are now granted access to these critical areas. HID Global’s solution also enables the administrator to perform system monitoring and access control operations across a complex range of entry points, access rules and cardholder information.
“HID Global’s solution delivers centralized management capabilities and enhanced security, addressing our needs for maximum security at key entry zones,” said Mr. Zhao, Project Engineer with First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University. “The solutions are also scalable, enabling additional applications, such as alarm annunciations, biometrics and logical access for future system expansion.”
“The healthcare industry has become increasingly dependent on information technology and access control systems,” said Eric Chiu, director of sales, Greater China with HID Global. “We are pleased to help First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University solve some longstanding issues and meet their future expansion needs with our access control solutions.”
