London, England - 14 March, 2007 - MessageLabs, a leading provider of integrated messaging and web security services to businesses worldwide, was last night recognized as the 'Hottest UK Technology Prospect of the Year' at the UK Technology Innovation & Growth Awards.

Now in their ninth year and organized by the European Technology Forum, the UK Technology Innovation & Growth Awards recognize talent and success across the UK technology industry and award those individuals and organizations that drive the success of the UK's fastest growing technology companies.

The 'Hottest UK Technology Prospect of the Year' award category, the most contested award at this year's event, recognizes the 'hottest' pre-IPO technology company, based on its strength of management team, innovative and relevant product and strong long term business prospects.

A panel of experienced industry figures, analysts, journalists and technologists judged the award and described MessageLabs as "a leading provider of integrated messaging and web security services, one of the fastest growing markets in the IT industry. With clients ranging from small business to Fortune 500, in more than 80 countries, MessageLabs has significant growth potential. The judges believe that MessageLabs is in a great position to become one of the few UK-based global technology companies."

"It is a great honour to receive this award and the industry recognition which accompanies it. Over the last year, MessageLabs has continued to innovate and achieve significant growth, through our expanded product portfolio, geographical reach and additions to our executive team. We have a world-class management team able to accelerate MessageLabs growth over the coming years. Keeping innovation and growth at the core of our business strategy enables us to keep ahead of the game and deliver industry-leading integrated protection for messaging threats across email, web and IM," said Adrian Chamberlain, CEO of MessageLabs.

The award was presented at last night's event, held at the London Hilton on Park Lane, to MessageLabs CEO Adrian Chamberlain and co-founder Ben White, who received the accolade of 'Technology Entrepreneur of the Year' at the 2005 UK Technology Innovation & Growth Awards.

Ben White adds "The importance of the technology industry and its continued developments is undisputed. It is achieving impressive growth rates and relentless levels of innovation, something we are certainly experiencing in the security sector. Six years ago, MessageLabs was just an idea. Today we protect more than six million computer users globally and employ more than 400 people which underlines to me that it was a great idea."

MessageLabs is widely recognized as the leading provider of managed security services to business worldwide based on its revenue, client base and global infrastructure. The company scans web and IM traffic and over a billion business emails each week for viruses, spyware, spam, inappropriate images and unwanted content.
