The results are in.
Thanks to everyone who submitted entries to our first annual Security Innovation Award contest. Every entry showcased an innovative solution to a difficult security problem.
The award winner, as well as the two runners-up, will receive their awards at a special event in September at the ASIS International Annual Seminar & Exhibits in San Diego . The winning project will also be featured in next month's issue of Security Technology & Design.
Our judges—members of our editorial advisory board, contributing editors and staff—carefully considered each submitted entry and scored it based on the level of collaboration displayed between the user, the vendor, and the integrator; the creativity or innovativeness of the solution; and the scope of the solution. We then compiled and averaged all the scores and rankings to determine the overall winner and two runners-up. Our sincere thank you to all our judges for their efforts in this competition.
This month the spotlight is on our two runners-up. These projects were as diverse in their focus as they were in their scope. One was an innovative video upgrade located in a single venue, while the other encompassed the third largest city in the United States , networking video, audio, access control and alarm monitoring. Each project demonstrated a collaborative effort between vendor, integrator and client that ensured a successful end.
