Nov. 20, 2006
Event draws on seminar education experience from ALAS and ASIS International

Expo Seguridad Mexico 2007 will celebrate its fifth anniversary April 24-26, 2007 at Centro Banamex in Mexico City with more exhibitors, an increased number of expected attendees, a larger exhibit hall and a full conference program, as well as a variety of special events.

Expo Seguridad Mexico is Latin America's premier electronic security event, helping attendees to keep up-to-date with the latest products and technology and offering manufacturers the opportunity to exhibit in this important emerging market that is experiencing double digit growth. The show consistently draws important decision makers in the public and private sectors and generates tremendous leads and referrals for exhibitors.

Expo Seguridad Mexico started in 2003 and for the past four years has successfully unified Mexico's security industry by bringing together exhibitors and attendees to one main event. Consensus from both exhibitors and attendees is that the Expo is the perfect venue and has consistently delivered the best return on investment in the country.

The show has also attracted international appeal as evidenced by attendance from 18 countries, including many in Central America and the Caribbean such as Guatemala, Costa Rica, Honduras and the Dominican Republic.

"Expo Seguridad Mexico 2006 promises to be an important business opportunity for companies outside of Latin America – especially U.S. companies because of its close proximity and almost non-existent trade barriers," said Andrea Ferrando, sales & marketing director for the Expo. "It's never too late for companies to get in the market. We have an extensive network of contacts and can introduce exhibitors to key local players. We even offer exhibitor packages that include a bilingual host."

ALAS (Latin American Security Association) and ASIS International have put together an electronic security summit that will offer a number of certification classes as well as more than 50 educational conferences. Plans are also underway for an event that will celebrate the Expo's fifth anniversary.

Last year's convention drew 172 exhibitors and more than 4,100 attendees. This year, expo management expects more than 200 exhibitors and 6,000 visitors including many from vertical markets outside the security industry.

Exhibitors already registered for Expo Seguridad Mexico 2007 include Andover Controls, Bosch, DSC, GE Security, Honeywell, HID, Indala, Infinova, Johnson Controls, Lenel, Panasonic, Pelco, Rainbow, RCI, Samsung, Scan Source, Tamron, Tyco, Vicon, and many more.

"Expo Seguridad is a show I look forward to all year. The combination of an excellent venue, professional staff, terrific attendance of qualified prospects and clients, and outstanding seminars with leading industry professionals make it a world class event with a local feel," said Mark NeSmith, director of international sales Asia Pacific & Latin America for DSC.

Expo Seguridad Mexico is organized by GIPREX, sponsored by ALAS and "Ventas de Seguridad" and endorsed by several local and international associations as well as by the four major security distributors in Mexico, INALARM, MAGOCAD, SERMEX And SYSCOM.
