We call it critical infrastructure for a reason, because if it fails, our nation's quality of life is significantly impacted. Senators are taking that "critical" nature into account with a proposal that would allow the government to specify some information security requirements for critical organizations and businesses. The proposal has its share of critics and detractors, but is it a natural step in our government's growth?
