Extreme CCTV cam credited with helping to reduce crime

REG-X captures license plates of vehicles entering, exiting properties
June 24, 2008

Extreme CCTV announces that its REG-X Close-Range License Plate Capture has helped reduce crime in Southern California residential communities.

Installed at access points, REG-X captures plates of vehicles entering and exiting properties at speeds of up to 30mph, from a 15-25ft range. Built-in infrared illumination enables plate capture under any lighting condition, while Ambient Rejection technology eliminates motion blur and headlight / sunlight glare for a high-contrast image. Delivering irrefutable evidence, REG-X allows the identification and arrest of residential area offenders.

"Customers have told me that since they installed REG-X, criminal activity in their area has ceased almost completely," says Jeff Pryor, residential integrator and owner of California-based Pryor Solutions.
