Company also forms sales and marketing alliances with GTSI and Milestone Systems

Secaucus, NJ - Panasonic Security Systems, a division of Panasonic System Solutions Company (PSSA), has announced the first of several new cooperative sales and marketing alliances aimed at further enhancing the company's systems integration capabilities. The announcement, made by company President Frank DeFina from Panasonic's North American headquarters in Secaucus, NJ, states the formation of new strategic working relationships with GTSI Corp. targeting government installations and Milestone Systems for IP based video systems integration. Panasonic's relationships with these companies marks Panasonic Security Systems' new "open infrastructure" initiative aimed at establishing a higher level of cooperation between the leading manufacturer of video surveillance systems equipment and complementary specialized manufacturers and systems integrators.

"The convergence of technologies enables the implementation of a diverse range of video systems ranging from the proven NTSC format to newly emerging IP-based security systems - many of which are highly specialized by application and by users' definite needs," said Mr. DeFina. "By forming strategic alliances with companies that offer innovative solutions for specific user groups, we can further expand our sales and marketing efforts to deliver highly specialized systems and support services to various markets."

"With our new corporate-driven "open infrastructure" initiative, Panasonic Security Systems will capitalize on the expertise of companies like GTSI and Milestone Systems to further extend the applications for Panasonic's Intelligent Technology. These two are the first in several forthcoming announcements," said DeFina. "As our new marketing theme 'we get IT!' states, Panasonic has adopted more than just a new attitude towards sophisticated hardware and software integration - we have embraced a new corporate philosophy aimed at building strategic alliances across the professional electronics industry."

Panasonic's cooperative sales and marketing relationship with GTSI primarily focuses on federal, state and local government agencies - fortifying both companies' homeland security efforts - as well as the education market with advanced video surveillance systems solutions. GTSI, based in Chantilly, Va., is a targeted IT provider to the government markets. To assure the highest levels of support and communications between the two companies, Panasonic has appointed a sales engineer at GTSI's headquarters. In addition, the companies will jointly establish an IT & Security Experience Center within GTSI's headquarters to demonstrate the latest technologies and systems solutions resulting from this collaborative effort. Panasonic and GTSI also will co-exhibit at key trade shows focusing on the government and education sectors.

Panasonic is actively working with Milestone Systems globally to capitalize on the inherent synergies between the two companies on an enterprise level.

Milestone Systems offers established experience in IP systems solutions for networked video surveillance, including remote video control, and boasts an international sales network in more than 50 countries. In North America, Panasonic Security Systems has been appointed the key provider on a dealer-direct basis of Milestone's XProtect Professional and Basis+ software, which offer intelligent feature sets for viewing and recording 1 to 36 cameras per server. These IP video surveillance solutions are scalable, flexible and cost-efficient, and integrate seamlessly with Panasonic's recording and camera systems.
