Mobile video and situational awareness got a big boost this week when Lextech Labs, Lisle, Ill., launched new connectivity options to its video software solution. The company brought the ever-popular Blackberry family of smartphones into the fold of its C3 video surveillance client, which is also available for Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod devices as well as Web browsers.
Recent estimates indicate close to 100 million Blackberry, iPhone, iPad and iPod devices will be sold in 2010, according to Lextech Labs’ Chief Executive Officer Alex Bratton. The Blackberry C3 client, as well as current Lextech Labs smartphone interfaces, enables multiple video streams on the handheld and the ability to view recorded video events and real-time live video feeds concurrently on a split screen.
