Megapixel models added to IP camera line

Vicon Industries, a leading designer and producer of video surveillance systems, today announced the addition of several new megapixel models within its I-ONYX line of IP cameras.

The cameras, which will be formally introduced next month at the ASIS International 2008 Exhibition in Atlanta, Georgia, are being released in conjunction with Vicon’s newest version of ViconNet digital video management software which will provide support for Vicon and third-party megapixel cameras.

The new cameras, all of which feature 1.3 megapixel resolution and M-JPEG/MPEG-4 compression, are available in bullet, dome and rugged, vandal-proof dome models and include indoor, outdoor, day/night and IR day/night versions. All include a micron megapixel CMOS module, PoE, power adapter and competitive frames-per-second performance. Lenses vary by model. Cameras will be on display at Vicon booth 927 at ASIS.

"This logical extension of our I-ONYX IP camera line will allow users of new ViconNet 5 to make full use of the software’s megapixel support. Demand for megapixel cameras continues to grow and we fully expect our I-ONYX line to compete well in this arena," stated Guy Arazi, Vicon’s Digital Products Manager.

More information on the new megapixel I-ONYX cameras will be posted online at www.vicon-cctv.com as it is available.
