Bioscrypt Inc. has announced that CEM Systems, part of Tyco Fire & Security Access Control and Video Systems business unit, has installed Bioscrypt's V-Flex biometric access control fingerprint reader at UK government locations where increased security was required.
CEM is working closely with system integrators SDA Protec on a two-stage project. The first stage included the installation of CEM's webEntry system as a short-term solution to secure the site during major refurbishment work. Bioscrypt's fingerprint biometric reader has been integrated with the webEntry system to control access to locations where increased security is required. Access to these high-security areas will only be allowed if the person's proximity card is validated by the CEM S600 reader and the fingerprint presented at Bioscrypt's V-Flex reader matches the card used.
The second stage will be the installation of CEM's advanced AC2000 SE system. The full upgrade path available with CEM products ensures the client can upgrade the webEntry system, complete with biometric integration, to the advanced AC2000 SE system to monitor employee activity when the refurbishment has been completed.
