In Episode 8 of SIW Radio, we look at the security issues of smart cards, RFID tags, the new ePassports, Mastercard's PayPass, Visa contactless payment cards and smart cards -- as they relate to privacy and identity theft. Our program starts with an interview with Randy Vanderhoof, executive director of the Smart Card Alliance. Vanderhoof discusses the SCA's new RF Technology Best Practices and shatters myths about RF technology. In the second part of this week's program, Kathleen Carroll, government relations director for HID Global, discusses legislation impacting the smart card industry, and what the card and RFID industry should be doing to address the public's concerns of identity theft.
