CTC Technologies, a networking, cabling and IT support services business in Ann Arbor, Mich., is proud to announce that it has reached a milestone many businesses do not see.
As of Feb. 5, 2024, CTC can celebrate being in business for 20 years. Corey Faupel, founder and President of CTC Technologies, had some sales experience in the IT industry right out of school. His early success was due to, as he says, figuring out “how to call on large companies. I was the top salesperson, and eventually I managed a sales team.”
He developed the business plan for CTC Technologies in 2003, focusing on commercial entities that needed network refreshing, wireless systems, and cabling installs, and CTC was launched in 2004.
Early projects were more commodity-driven, says Faupel. Sales were made up mostly of hardware and software, but they began doing WAN optimizations about 2007. By 2010, when they had a larger team, their network refresh work took off.
They did a lot of federal government business for defense contractors and similar groups.
“That’s when the service niche we have now – the skills the team has, particularly in field installs – really made CTC what it is today,” says Faupel. He notes that they’ve had several challenging deployments for Fortune-200 clients for CISCO-ISE, including everything from network assessments and wireless site surveys to detailed network designs.
“Now we have people working in several states and nationwide clientele, and I’m really proud of what we built so far,” says Faupel. “Our number-one goal is to be a trusted advisor to customers. We are well known to be responsive, ethical, and very detail-oriented. I tell every company we talk to that we don’t want a transactional relationship, but want to be the consultants that they and their internal IT teams turn to,” adds Faupel.
The initial celebration for the 20th anniversary year started Feb. 9 with a private dinner for CTC employees and their guests. For the rest of the year, and into January of 2025, monthly articles, website updates, a new newsletter and regular social media posts will be published, and client-appreciation events will be held.
